Like the stem form Anubias barteri, the variety nana is also very different in the appearance of its leaves. The variety ‘Bigfoot’ has significantly larger leaves compared to the “normal” nana species, which also refers to its naming. Its longer petioles are also a good distinguishing feature. Therefore, this plant works best in aquariums with an edge length of 50 to 60 cm or more. Like all Anubias species, the ideal substrate is root wood or stone material. For larger aquariums with Malawi or Tanganyika cichlids, the variety ‘Bigfoot’ is a particularly good recommendation for greening the stone superstructure.
