Brand:

The Dennerle Carbo Bio Start 80 is an easy-to-use, entry-level bio-CO₂ fertilization kit designed specifically for freshwater aquariums up to 80 litres. It utilizes a 100% natural yeast fermentation process paired with a specialty gel to provide a steady, uniform stream of carbon dioxide to promote healthy aquatic plant growth and vibrant colors while suppressing algae.

Key Features:

  • Steady CO₂ Production: Uses a proprietary CO₂ Constant Gel that feeds the microorganisms gradually. This prevents the unstable, hazardous “spike and drop” gas production typical of homemade DIY sugar-and-yeast setups.
  • Long Lifespan: Each gel depot provides a stable carbon supply for at least 40 days.
  • Low-Pressure Dissolution: Comes with a Dennerle Micro Flipper gas-diffuser designed specifically to dissolve carbon dioxide efficiently under low, bio-system pressures.
  • Renewable Formula: The entire chemical reaction is derived from 100% renewable raw materials.

What is Included in the Box:

  • 2x Carbo Bio Depot 60/80 (The reactor bottles pre-filled with the stabilizer gel)
  • 2x Carbo Bio Activator packs (The microorganism/yeast starter culture)
  • 1x Micro Flipper (CO₂ dissolving unit)
  • 1x Pressure-resistant CO₂ hose (1.5 meters)

Quick Setup & Operation Rules:

  1. Activation: Open the activator sachet and pour it directly into the gel bottle.
  2. Fill Water: Add lukewarm water (ideally between 20°C and 25°C) up to the clearly marked maximum fill line on the bottle. Do not overfill, or the fermentation foam could overflow into your aquarium.
  3. Plumbing: Securely connect the CO₂ hose to the bottle cap and attach the other end to the Micro Flipper inside your tank.
  4. Placement Rule: Keep the reaction bottle sitting flat next to or level with the aquarium. Do not place it underneath the tank in a cabinet, as bio-fermentation cannot generate enough pressure to lift the gas upward over severe heights, which risks bursting the connection hoses.
  5. Lag Time: Expect the system to take 24 to 48 hours to generate enough initial pressure to start pushing visible bubbles out of the diffuser.
