How to Use a Planaria Trap:

  • Add Bait: Place meat-based food inside the trap, such as frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, raw chicken, or fish flakes.
  • Fill with Water: Submerge or fill the trap with aquarium water so no large air pockets remain.
  • Position on Substrate: Place the trap flat on the tank floor with the entry holes facing directly down against the gravel or sand to keep curious shrimp out.
  • Turn Off Lights: Set the trap at night or turn off the aquarium lights, as planaria are nocturnal and active in the dark.
  • Empty and Clean: Remove the trap after a few hours or up to 24 hours, rinse out the caught worms with hot water, and repeat if necessary.
