Core Benefits:
- Removes Water Discoloration: Rapidly binds yellowing pigments, organic waste, and tannins to leave water crystal clear.
- Eliminates Odours: Absorbs foul smells caused by built-up organic compounds.
- Toxin & Medication Removal: Highly effective at extracting heavy metals, contaminants, and residual fish medications after a treatment cycle is complete.
- Safe for Sensitive Inhabitants: Safe for fish, shrimp, and live tropical plants.
Dosage & Usage Instructions:
To use Aquaforest Carbon in a freshwater aquarium, apply the following parameters:
- Dosage: Use 100 ml of AF Carbon for every 200 litres of tank water.
- Placement: Place the granules into a fine mesh media filter bag for passive placement inside your filter basket, or use it actively inside a media reactor. If using a reactor, restrict the maximum water flow to 500 L/h to prevent the granules from tumbling too violently and grinding into dust.
- Replacement Cycle: Replace the carbon media every 4 weeks, as its porous surface will eventually become fully saturated and lose its absorption capacity.
Vital Aquarium Tips:
- Medication Alert: Always remove the activated carbon from your filter before dosing any fish medication, otherwise the charcoal will immediately absorb and neutralize the treatment.
