Best known for its long, ribbon-like leaves with a distinctive crinkled or “hammered” texture, it is a staple choice for aquascapers. Therefore, many use it to add elegant vertical movement and a jungle aesthetic to their aquariums.

Plant Profile & Care:

• Placement: Ideal for the midground or background of the aquarium, where its tall leaves (up to 60 cm) can add height and texture. The leaves may float beautifully on the water surface in shallower tanks.
• Lighting: Thrives in low to moderate lighting conditions. Too much light can encourage algae growth on its leaves.
• Substrate: As a heavy root feeder, it benefits greatly from a nutrient-rich substrate or the use of root tabs.
• Water Conditions: This plant is highly adaptable and can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, including hard water, which is typical of its natural habitat in Southern Thailand.
