Ideal Growing Conditions:

  • Lighting: Moderate to high lighting is required to bring out the rich yellow, dark orange, and red tones.
  • CO2 & Nutrients: CO2 injection (20–30 ppm) and regular micro/macro liquid fertilizer dosing (especially iron and potassium) speed up growth and intensify coloration.
  • Placement: Best suited for the midground or background of the aquarium, growing anywhere from 5 to 10 inches or taller depending on pruning.
  • Water Parameters: Thrives in a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5 and temperatures between 72°F and 82°F (22°C to 28°C).

Care and Maintenance:

  • Pruning: Regular trimming of the top stems encourages side-branching, resulting in a dense, bushy appearance.
  • Propagation: Cut healthy 4- to 5-inch stem tops and replant them directly into the substrate.
  • Planting Ready-To-Grow Cups: Rinse the gel/nutrient medium completely from the roots under tap water before breaking the portion into small clumps and planting them separately in your substrate.
