Pressurized Co2 Starter Set 4Kg from Saturn Shrimp is a complete high-pressure carbon dioxide system. It is designed to accelerate aquatic plant growth and enhance photosynthesis in planted aquariums.

Kit Specifications & Inclusions:

  • CO2 Cylinder: Heavy-duty, high-capacity bottle providing long-lasting gas volume.
  • Dual-Stage Regulator: Features two gauges to display both total bottle pressure and precise working output pressure, preventing dangerous “end-of-tank dumps”. Choice of DCAQUA CO2 Regulator or Aquapro CO2 Regualtor – Dual Stage.
  • Dual-Stage Regulator Timing: If you choose the DC Aqua Regulator, a Wifi timer will be needed to control timing. If you choose the Aquapro Regulator the Aquapro CO2 Bluetooth Controller via Chihiros App can be used to control timing via the My Chihiros App.
  • Clear CO2 Tubing: 1 metre of specialized pressure-resistant hose that prevents gas permeation.
  • Diffuser Options: Choice between an in-tank or an *in-line/external (at an extra cost) diffuser to break gas down into ultra-fine bubbles.

Key Benefits:

  • Cost-Effective: Larger 4kg capacity reduces the frequency of trips to refilling stations, making it highly economical over time compared to mini-cartridges or DIY systems.
  • Algae Control: Rapid plant growth driven by balanced carbon injection starves nuisance algae of nutrients.
  • Consistent Flow: The dual-stage mechanical design guarantees a safe, uniform gas output as the cylinder empties.

Essential Setup Checklist:

  1. Solenoid Valve & Timer: Attach a 12V solenoid to an electronic wall timer. Set it to activate 2 hours before your aquarium lights turn on and switch off 2 hours before the lights go out.
  2. Bubble Counter: Fill the chamber roughly 85% full with water or bubble counter fluid to carefully track your injection rate.
  3. Drop Checker: Install a glass drop checker inside the tank to continuously monitor safety levels. Aim for a stable lime-green color profile (roughly 30 mg/L of dissolved CO2).
