Seachem Purigen 100ml is a premium synthetic polymer that absorbs organic waste, tannins, and impurities from freshwater and marine aquariums. It is celebrated for polishing water to crystal clarity and controlling ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. One 100ml pouch treats up to 400 liters and darkens as it exhausts.

How to Use:

3. Rehydrate: If your Purigen gets dried out, soak it in regular tap water for about 10 minutes to rehydrate it before use.

How to Recharge/Renew:

Unlike carbon, Purigen can be regenerated multiple times to save money. When the beads turn dark brown or black, they are exhausted:

1. Bleach Soak: Soak the media in a 1:1 mixture of water and standard, unscented household bleach (do not use splashless bleach) for 24 hours in a non-metallic container.
2. Dechlorinate: Rinse thoroughly, then soak for 8 hours in a solution using a strong dechlorinator (e.g., Seachem – Prime – 250ml) to remove all traces of chlorine.
3. Freshwater Prep: For freshwater tanks, do an additional 4-hour soak in a buffer solution, then rinse well before returning to the filter.
