Plant Profile & Care Requirements:
- Placement: Midground or background in planted aquariums.
- Lighting: Moderate to high intensity; stronger light deepens the pink and red tones on the top leaves.
- CO₂ & Nutrients: Benefits greatly from CO₂ injection and a nutrient-rich aquasoil or root/liquid fertilization containing iron to prevent lower leaf drop and pale growth.
- Growth Rate: Slow to moderate; being a slower grower, it can be prone to algae if water parameters and lighting are unbalanced.
Propagation & Maintenance:
- Pruning: Snip the top terminal bud and replant it directly into the substrate.
- Bushiness: Cutting the main stem encourages the mother plant to sprout multiple side shoots, creating a denser, bushier appearance.
