Brand:

A Nephrolepis exaltata sp. Cotton Candy is a special, fine-leaved sword fern variety that instantly brings an airy, fresh atmosphere to terrariums and other humidity-loving plant arrangements with its soft-looking, ruffled foliage. Compared to classic Nephrolepis varieties, it offers a denser, fuller overall appearance. Therefore, it stands out beautifully even in smaller and medium-sized plant displays. Its narrow, wavy leaves come in light to medium green shades. Furthermore, their appearance is truly “cotton candy-like,” which is where the variety name comes from.

Its growth is bushy and slightly spreading, usually reaching a height of 15–30 cm. It develops best in bright but diffused light, so direct, intense sunlight should be avoided. It is a terrarium plant with moderate light needs, and under suitable conditions it gradually produces dense, striking foliage. Due to its tropical origin, it prefers temperatures between 20–28 °C.

For Nephrolepis exaltata sp. Cotton Candy, high humidity is one of the most important requirements. It shows its most beautiful form in a closed or partially closed terrarium, florarium, or in the terrestrial zone of a paludarium. Its substrate should be kept evenly slightly moist. Meanwhile, a loose, well-aerated, organic-rich medium helps support healthy root development. Its care requires moderate attention, mainly because of the need to maintain humidity and even moisture.

The terra plants of Dennerle Plants are grown not in rock wool, but in a special coconut fiber medium. This medium can be planted directly, so it does not need to be removed. This allows for especially clean and simple handling. In terms of placement, it is recommended for the foreground or midground, where it adds compact yet rich texture to the arrangement. With proper care, it is an excellent choice for terrariums, florariums, and other tropical plant compositions.
