Key Care and Breeding Details:

  • Ideal Water Parameters: Maintain water temperatures between 22°C and 26°C, with a pH level of roughly 7.0.
  • Breeding: They are livebearers, meaning they give birth to free-swimming fry rather than laying eggs. To prevent exhaustion from male harassment, maintain a breeding ratio of 1 male to at least 2 to 3 females.
  • Color Variations: You can sometimes find albino variants, which feature bright non-metallic red bodies paired with distinct albino eyes.
