The strawberry rasbora (Boraras naevus) is a tiny, peaceful freshwater fish native to Thailand. Growing to just 1.5 to 2 cm, males feature a vibrant reddish-pink body with dark spots. They are popular nano-tank and aquascape community fish that thrive in groups of six or more.

Tank Requirements:

• Minimum Tank Size: 19 liters for a small school.
• Water Temperature: 22–26°C.
• Water pH: 5.5 to 7.0 (soft, acidic water preferred).

Environment: Heavily planted with live plants, driftwood, and dim lighting to mimic their natural shaded, tannin-rich streams.

Diet and Care:

• Temperament: Extremely peaceful, though they can be shy if kept in too small of a group.
• Diet: Omnivorous, require micro-pellets, crushed flakes, and live or frozen foods like baby brine shrimp and daphnia due to their tiny mouths.

Compatible Tankmates: Small shrimp (Neocaridina/Caridina), pygmy corydoras, otocinclus, and other peaceful micro-fish.

Behavior and Tank Mates:

These fish are strict schooling animals and should always be kept in groups of at least 6 to 8 individuals, though a larger shoal of 12+ will significantly boost their confidence and coloration.

• Incompatible Mates: Avoid larger, boisterous, or aggressive fish that could easily mistake them for a snack.
